2001 REEBOK AUTHENTICS

My first passion is 2001 authentics. In my opinion, the helmet tags look brilliant and the El Salvador made jerseys of this era were far superior to anything Reebok made afterwards:

David Garrard - Jags - 2002 pro-cut


This is obviously tagged as a 2002, but has the body of a 2001 (the helmet tag and mesh shoulders support this). The NFL equipment shield on the collar is also from 2002, and Garrard was drafted by the Jags in 2002. My bet is that this was a blank leftover from 2001, which was made for Garrard in the 2002 season but not used. The cut seems consistent with Garrard's and my understanding is that this was never customised. The jersey is really nice and the cut fits me well, so I'm happy with it - whatever it is!

THE BUCCANEERS

Next up is my team - the Bucs! I'm still working on this collection, but am not helped by the fact that the retail jerseys for the Bucs were really poor in the 90s, so it's hard to get decent authentics.

Yeah, I always wanted a Bucs Sapp jersey.

Thank you, gents. I picked up the Sapp jersey for around £30, including delivery from the US. Needless to say, I am delighted with it at - particularly at that price! As you'll notice, it's the only non-Reebok Jersey (modern era, M&N excepted) I own. I do like the feel of it and can see why a lot of people are not as keen on the recent Reebok authentics. I'm trying to get Starter and Wilson authentics, as I've seen a lot of people commenting that they prefer these authentics most of all. Aside from that, picking up a white Bucs authentic is well up my list! That has to be my favourite current jersey.

Hopefully more to follow soon, but I move to Toronto next month so my purchasing will have to go on hold for a while until I have a permanent address there . At least that will get the wife off my back for a while at least!

Very nice pickups there, love the Faulk with the 75th patch.

I love the Prime Time jersey man. I think the Falcons should play in that throwback all year round.

I've now cleaned up my original posts and updated for most of my collection. I realised I have missed a few out so will try and update for them when I get a chance.
