Ok - it was only a matter of time. The Eagles have obviously been making all the headlines over the last couple of weeks, so let's get an early predictor up and running, now the free agency market is starting to play out.
I'm just proposing to keep it simple, so divisional winners, conference winners, and SB winner. Here are my predictions:
AFC East: Patriots
AFC North: Steelers
AFC South: Jags (ok - we need one bold call in there)
AFC West: Chargers
NFC East: Eagles
NFC North: Packers
NFC South: Saints
NFC West: Rams
AFC Champs: Patriots
NFC Champs: Packers
SB Champs: Patriots
All in all, I don't see any major changes from last year. I think the delay in getting teams into training camp will severely disadvantage the teams who drafted higher and made more key signings in free agency. I therefore think the teams who were good last year and kept their roster relatively intact will continue to be good.
The Jags are in there as they took the Colts close last season, and Manning may miss the start of the season, or at least his necks problem could re-emerge during the season. It goes without saying that as soon as they lose him, the gap in the AFC South narrows a lot.
