Sad thing is someone out there will be duped into buying it and thinking they got a bargain.

I know what your saying simon but americans and canadians should know better as they have retail shops with authentics on display so they can compare the real and the fake much easier than the uk fan can.

Sad thing is people will think they got a bargain and buy more from them.

Depends on where you live whether or not you can compare. I live 10 miles from the Hall of Fame, and go there every year. They have a pro shop that is huge and has a display for every team in the NFL. But they do not stock authentics! I can't afford to go to a Browns games, so I've never been to their pro shop. I've been a jersey nut for over a year now, and I've never seen a real authentic. Unless one that I bought from eBay is. It fits all the descriptions of a true authentic, and I'm 95% sure it's authentic. But cuz I didn't get it from NFLshop.com or a team site, I can't be sure. I'll post some pics someday.
And I'd say 90% of fans who would wear a jersey are not "jersey nuts". They would never spend time on a forum like this. So when they get a good quality fake for $30 - $50 they feel like they got a deal. And I'd say they did. My first fake authentic was a very good quality Randy Moss. Man I thought I'd found the holy grail. And to be honest, when I found out it was counterfeit, I didn't care. Cuz I payed $40 total for it. My Lions replica from NFLshop.com was $80. To me it was a no brainer. Now we could argue the morality of counterfeiting all day long. And the fact that it is illegal does bother me. I really wish the NFL could bring their prices down. I would rather my money go to them, than counterfeiters in China.
Sorry this is so long. I'm pretty passionate about the whole jersey, fake jersey issue. And I have lots to say, and learn about the issue.

i saw your post about your fake randy moss somewhere before.it went something like i wore my fake randy moss raiders jersey to the hall of fame ceromony and nobody noticed.this site is for real fans who buy real jerseys.chuck i would be willing to stake money that my real lamont jordan is 10 times better quality than your fake randy moss.i know this because i had a good quality fake jamarcus russell before i myself knew the difference.when i bought the jordan jersey i laid it down next to the jamarcus jersey and the differences were quite funny the fakes numbers were made of a different material and a lot smaller the letters on the nameplate were smaller the stitching on the jordan is flawless the stitching on the jamarcus was average by comparison and worst of all the jamarcus was a size 52 the jordan is a 50 but it is bigger than the fake jersey

You're so right 90% of fans will not care where their jersey comes from or whether it's fake or real if they pay far less for it than a real replica. I'd love to see the prices fall too ( my wife wouldn't as it would mean another closet to keep them all in ) If you paid close to retail for a fake like I did in the early days then it really grips your sh*t. What a lot of people think is they are getting a bargain and as niko say's, they aren't getting that bargain because the quality is no where near that of the real deal. I've got a Bills home jersey I've had for years which still looks as good as the day I got it and fakes which look like crap on the day I got it.

I watched the MNF game and when the camera was on the crowd I could see far more fake Saints jerseys than genuine. Which is a real problem, as my real beef is with the counterfeiters (criminals) who are only in the game for the profit and to hell with how they get it or the conditions of the people who make them. Much has been made in the media here of companies who have had their product made in the far east and the working conditions, but companies like Reebok, Adidas etc do work hard to make sure that the factories used treat their employees properly.

Well, I don't have a Randy Moss Raiders jersey. Fake or real. So that wasn't me. There is a definite difference in the quality of fakes from team to team. Raiders are all crap. Most Patriots are decent. And so on. My Randy Moss was a Patriots. And I am certainly not arguing the difference in quality. The real jerseys are a 100 times better.
And I am a real fan who can't afford to buy real authentics at $250 minimum.
And I did wear my fake Peyton Manning to the AFC/NFC Hall of Fame Game. And no one noticed....... cuz everyone else was wearing fakes too!
