Authentic vikings jersey???

The jersey does look to be a genuine 2001 Reebok, the GU patch commemorated the life of Gene Upshaw, who died in 2008 and wore number 63 for the Raiders. He was the executive director of the NFLPA also. That patch should not be there. Also Allen was not drafted until 2004, by the Chiefs and was traded to the Vikings in 2008.

It's been customised to look like Allen's throwback jersey from the 2008 season.

I checked the Vikings roster for 2001-02 and there was no #69.

could've done that myself so cheers..theres so many levels to this it almost baffles the mind but its addictive

I would imagine that the jersey originally had a number in the 60's and the second number has been replaced to make Allen's jersey. Adding the GU patch makes it look like a 2008 jersey, but we know better cause of the jock tag.

I suppose that the seller thought he'd make more money by changing it to a current player, but funnily enough it was probably worth more leaving it alone as a vintage jersey.

Especially considering how mangled the "9" looks compared to the 6.
