On Sunday Bills Tight End Kevin Everett suffered a potentially life threatening injury during the game against the Broncos.

Everett sustained what the team called a cervical spine injury when he ducked his head while driving into tackle Denver's Domenik Hixon during the second half-opening kickoff. Everett dropped face first to the ground after his helmet hit Hixon high on the left shoulder and side of the helmet.

It's rare that severe injuries are sustained in an NFL game these days which is testament to the safety equipment and training.

I send my hopes and prayers to Kevin and his family and my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

yes its not very often this happens but when it does it makes you feel sick and makes you feel ashamed to complain about a cold or cut finger or trivial injury

Latest news from the states is that Everett has had some movement recorded in his legs and arms following surgery. The medical team have said that it will be a long road to recovery but there is the real possibility that he may walk again. This is encouraging news indeed
