Yeah I would imagine you will as eastbay will Mark the exact value on the customs form. Probably will be between £20-30 and it will take a bit longer as It will be delayed in customs.

Not all the time. I once ordered from Eastbay a pair of cleats and shoulder pads delivered in a huge box and paid no tax. Its the luck of the draw!

Romo 48 ordered, and got parents to pay as a christmas present. Result.

My jerseys turned up this morning with a £20 tax fee... .... Anyway not too bothered as thats Eastbay at its best US-UK in 3 days!!

Shame about the fee but great shipping time.

Can anybody please explain to me how the taxes and customs duties work? Is it weight or price based? And am I likely to pay anything on the romo I ordered off eastbay?

Romo arrived from eastbay today with £17 tax. Washington jets authentic arrived yesterday too. 2 in 2 days isn't bad

It's based on the value which is declared on the customs form. There are certain thresholds which, if the value is below this, no customs will be charged. For Canada, it's anything over $20. The UK I think varies depending on what type of goods are included, so there is no easy way of determining what the magic number is for jerseys.

Private sellers will often put a lower amount on the declaration in order to avoid the buyer being hit by customs taxes, but (given this is illegal) larger retailers (including Eastbay) will always declare the full amount, so you're far more likely to get hit with taxes buying from them.

In my experience, customs are completely sporadic in levying charges. As I mentioned, the threshold in Canada is $20. I've been hit with tax of $13 on a DVD with a declared value of $22 (which pissed me off because I only paid $15 for the DVD and $7 for the shipping, so the value of the DVD was below $20!) On the other hand, I've had goods with $170 declared value which they haven't batted an eye-lid at.

So they just tax what they feel like lol thanks
