Were legitimate Reebok Authentics ever made in China?

It's my understanding that "made in China" on the label is a dead giveaway that a Reebok "authentic" is a fake. Does anyone know if that's correct? My authentics were all made in Korea or Vietnam and my premiers were made in either Nicaragua or Guatemala. I think I heard that Reebok replicas were made in China but I don't have any. Anyone know which countries produced legitimate Reebok Authentics?

The two fakes I recently bought and returned for a refund both had "made in China" on the label. They had some of the typical fake jersey givaways but they were older jerseys and better than the more recent fakes. I know counterfeiters usually put in a label that says they were made in some country other than China so I'm wondering why anyone would put China on the label if it's a certain giveaway.

I believe there was a small run in maybe 2003 of legit Dolphins jerseys that were made in China. This is the legend that I've heard.

Chris is correct, there was a small run of Dolphins jerseys, but the vast majority with made in China are fake.

I think I have seen some legit non-Dolphins Chinese made, but I forget which team / styles. The "made in China" label should raise your suspicion levels, but not write it off as a fake completely.

I know some Buccaneers jerseys were made in China.

That's a little surprising but I'm glad to know it. The more recent Reebok fakes are so bad you can spot them when the camera pans the fans on TV but some of the older ones had much less obvious flaws. "Made in China" on the label will definitely encourage me to look deeper.

There was only a small run of Dolphins jerseys that were official and made in China. What you might have there is a bootleg that was made with stolen materials from the Reebok factory. It’s kind of a “salesman sample”, meaning it was used to show how well they can bootleg the jersey. Of course, the final products were awful.

Got it. It just looks very legit. The only minor thing I can see is the stitching in the Reebok vector is slightly touching, but other than that I think most people would view this as a legit jersey if they didn’t know where it was made.

There are a couple of things that make me uneasy with it. As you said the threads in the Reebok logo are usually never there on a genuine jersey. The NFL shield on the jock tag looks off too, the stars don’t seem right.

On balance of probabilities I would say that it is not genuine but as Chris said there could be genuine elements on it like the numbers.

I actually owned one of these high quality fakes years ago. Funnily enough, it was an Eagles jersey. The numbers were genuine tackle twill.. the stitching was perfect. But, the v-neck logo was sewn with white thread, the sleeve vector logos were a bit wonky, and of course “made in China”. Perhaps just materials were stolen for Eagles jerseys? We will never know exactly what was taken. But what I do know is, that’s a fake.

I’m convinced there was an Eagles run made in China. Been seeing too many legit looking Eagles  jerseys.

Maybe it's OEM or fake.
