I have everything crossed the Bears can pull off this deal, with the shocking sudden loss of Gaines Adams and it looks like Adewale Ogunleye will be moving on ,DE is a huge need,Mark Andersen is also at the end of his current contract.
Bears dont have a draft pick till late in the 2nd round. Chicago are renowned to be tight when it comes to paying for players but in this non capped year Bears should be bringing in some well known free agents,we need a lot of help in many positions to be genuine contenders but Peppers would be a huge pickup.

As a friend, I'd advise the Bears to go after Aaron Kampman. At least the guy gives it his all on every down. Being a Panthers fan, I know all about J-Pep. And as I said in an article I wrote, while his stats speak volumes, they are as transparent as glass.

firstly nice Website Catsfan Smile I think your being a little bit harsh on Pepper Bear Razz "Week 17 against a New Orleans team of reserve players, and a non-primetime game, Pep chillaxed." if there was ever a game were you wouldnt mind your players relaxing a little it's a final season game with nothing to play for against a team resting its starters ( by the way the Panthers still won that game and Peppers had a Int to ice the game in the 4th qtr)
Sure im excited that The Bears could add one of the best pass rushers and they might over pay for him but he's the premium free agent this year .
The Bears wont be paying big money to rookies this year because we wont have any, so money should be available for some top rated free agent talent .
Kampman is a stud who would also be a great pick up, its always good to take a top player from a division rival, but he had a serious knee injury last year and would be a risky addition to any team.
Peppers takes games off ,but so do 90% of the top players in the NFL ,Randy Moss being one of the elite names thats been mentioned quite a lot this year but who wouldnt be delighted having him in your team. Peppers would be a great fit with the Bears as he would be with a lot of teams but with our needs and low draft picks I think Peppers addition with the return of Brian Urlacher could radically change the Bears D in 2010.
If he comes theres no doubt in my mind Chicago would have the best front four in the NFL ,Peppers ,Harris,Brown ,Andersen

not a bad way to end his career with Carolina but its time for the big time in Chi town Wink

That sounds good, Dub...I hope I'm not returning to say "I told ya so" later in the season. Perhaps a change of scenery is what Pep really needs, but IMO at this point, he is highly over-valued.

He's received criticism from teammates, media, fans, other coaches, other teams' player personnel, and on it goes. If any team SHOULD make a serious run for Pep, it would be the Falcons--a division rival, and they can feasibly do it and are not restricted by the "Final Eight" rule. If they don't then you know something's up.

I am very interested to see where Peppers ends up, and at what price.

I hope the best for his new team, and I'm glad he's outta Carolina.

BTW: Thank you for the site compliment and checking it out! They also have a Bears site there too. It's http://beargoggleson.com/

And anyone else reading this thread, your fav. NFL team is in there too. Just go to http://fansided.com and look for your team in the appropriate section.

For the price of Peppers, the Bears could instead go after the Cardinals' Antrel Rolle and Packers' Aaron Kampman (give or take a few million)...Food for thought anyway. I'd rather have two for the price of one.
