I'll miss Jake. He was a great team leader, and I loved his competitive fire. That said, his intangibles will be missed.
Might he have rebounded if they had kept him this year? We'll never know. But I do know he would have put forth his best effort, and I do know that whatever team does sign him, he'll give them the same work ethic that he gave in Carolina.
I have no ill-will for this man at all, andI do hope the best for him. I was sorry to see him leave, but in the end I am a fan of the "logo," and my emotions don't get tangled with the individual players once they leave.
Time for the Panthers to move forward, and I feel they did Jake a favor, by not making a mockery of him and what he did for the Panthers by making him play second-fiddle to the new guy, Matt Moore.
