Wow, we made it through a fascinating and long day in Carolina Panthers history; quite possibly one of the biggest day in Panthers history in regards to personnel decisions.

Everyone expected defensive end Julius Peppers‘ move onto the free agent market. We all knew it would be a short stay for Pep, who was on the market for 15 hours before he and the Chicago Bears finalized a deal that will keep Peppers in Chi-town for six years, and most likely the remainder of his career.

not many players get a chance to speak at a team held press conference after being cut, this was a classy move by the Panthers who unlike some havnt forgotten all the great things he did with that franchise,Delhomme was always one of my favourite QB's and im sure he'll work his way to being a starter in the NFL again. He had a lousy year and a half and the media made him the biggest schmuck on the planet but the guy won a lot of games and he's always wore his heart on his sleeve. I cant believe how much he lost it in that interview Shocked I'd imagine in a couple of days he'll look back on that clip and cringe his emotions really got the better of him but it's nice to see .Best of luck to him

The Bills should pick Delhomme up.

Good post, Dub...

I'll miss Jake. He was a great team leader, and I loved his competitive fire. That said, his intangibles will be missed.

Might he have rebounded if they had kept him this year? We'll never know. But I do know he would have put forth his best effort, and I do know that whatever team does sign him, he'll give them the same work ethic that he gave in Carolina.

I have no ill-will for this man at all, andI do hope the best for him. I was sorry to see him leave, but in the end I am a fan of the "logo," and my emotions don't get tangled with the individual players once they leave.

Time for the Panthers to move forward, and I feel they did Jake a favor, by not making a mockery of him and what he did for the Panthers by making him play second-fiddle to the new guy, Matt Moore.

How's the Bills' offensive line? I ask because Jake needs a good offensive line around him to give him time to make plays. Delhomme benefits even more with a good running game behind him as well.

Last I heard (last night), there are currently 10 teams interested to some extent in Jake's services. The Bills could be in the mix, but he's not making any decisions until after the weekend.
