| Asked a seller for a picture of the hologram on the tag of a NFL jersey. To me it looks fake, but I've never seen a fake square hologram until now I think. The tag doen't look real either and the hologram appears to be in the wrong place. Am I wrong? To me the footballs on the hologram look wrong. Colors not right. Kind of like how the helmets on the old circle hologram fakes didn't have the right colors. I provided a picture of a REAL hologram to compare to what I think is FAKE. Hope this contributes to the cause. REAL FAKE? | |

| Sorry buddy are you saying the top one is the real and the bottom is the fake? I just want to make sure because the top one looks washed out and the bottom looks crisp. Where is the fake one from? | |

| The top one is from the one you told was real last week. Hahaha. Hopefully still holds true. Here are better pictures of it from my own camera. Kind of hard to get it to focus. This one is from one of those 39.99 ebay auctions. | |

| Hmmm. Tricky one here. from the quality of the 39.99 auction hologram I'd have trouble saying it's a fake one. If it is it's very good as the colors are bright and the balls are crisp and well defined. What does the rest of the jersey look like? Do you have the item number? | |

| To me the Reebok Vector is a dead give away. The dolphin doesn't look right to me either. The last thing I think looks wrong is the football on the jock tag. Doesn't look shaped right, looks more like an egg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150493976722&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 | |

| No you're spot on, the jersey is a fake, no doubt about that. I wonder if it is the first fake hologram or a real on out on it to try and legitimize it. | |

| It looks like the tag was re-applied to the dolphins jersey. The pre-punched hole wasn't used and a new hole was crudely poked into it. I don't know, very suspect IMHO. | |

I thought so too at first, but everything else on the jersey checks out. Can't think of a reason why the pre-stamped hole wasn't used besides an error when attaching it.

| It looks like in the first pic, the NFL equipment logo is sewn on the neck with white thread. Can you see if it's white or clear? | |

| The thread is clear, like a really thin monofilament fishing line. Tried to take a picture of it, but it is damn near impossible to get one. | |

| That's good then, fakes use white. The real ones are clear. | |

| Also, on the fake one, the serial number doesn't seem to be the same font. If you look close you can see the 1 towards the end is not fully printed on. | |

Man...you have a really perceptive eye. I didn't notice that. I've noticed that fakes usually have the hologram placed on the bottom of the tag where the price/barcode sticker is supposed to go on the newer tags. Real tags have the hologram on the top of the tag over the VISA. On the REAL tag I noticed the side line/yard line stripe and the 4 look blotchy like real chalk on a field. The same things on the FAKE look like solid lines. Hope you don't mind me using your picture Billsfan.

| Yeah, the scanner didn't pick up the tiny details it seems. Or the printer could print in such fine detail. The V in the Visa logo is wrong too, should have a little whispy line on the left side of the V near the top. The fake does not have it. The hologram is cut correctly either. The real one has more rounded corners. | |

| You're right about that too. Well if the fakers are going to be using these new holograms now, we know what to start looking for. | |
