Randy Moss retires

NFL network is reporting that Randy Moss has retired after 13 years in the league. Shame that his last season was such a bust, I would have liked to have seen him go one more year with a single team and go out in style, still he's a future HOF'er.

He still had more to give... I guess he did not feel like playing at all if he was not to be the featured receiver.

I think that he wanted the SB ring, but no contender was willing to take him on.

Wonder if Moss will have a change of heart once FA is over and the injuries start rolling in?

As you say seems as a shame as I'm sure he still has some gas left in the tank

That would let him sit back and see who is actually in contention.

I heard it reported that there was interest from 3 or 4 teams (I think, from memory). I agree with Billsfan that I don't believe any of the big names were in the mix so he called it a day. The Jets were rumoured to be interested as a replacement for Edwards, but I'm guessing that fell through when they signed Burress. I don't think any of the other likely contenders were in the WR market, particularly given the 2011 cap, as I can't imagine Moss would play for free.

Shame he ended out playing for 3 teams (with no real positive headlines) in his last season.
