Captain's Patches

Does anyone know what the stars on the captains patches mean?

Been annoying me for a while

Just means every star indicates a year that that person has been a captain of that team....either that or something todo with working at McDonalds...lol

Think there are 4 stars on the patch, some white some gold.

The gold ones are the years that the player has been a captain. For some reason the league didn't like the look of the badge with just one or two stars on it, so they put 4 on and coloured them differently. What they are going to do after someone's been a captain for 4 years and goes into the 5th is anyone's guess.

I've never been a fan of them, and I love a good patch.

This is only the 3rd season since the captain patch was reintroduced(other teams have had similar patches in the past.
No player will have all 4 gold stars yet ,not even if they've been an offence ,defencive or special teams captain on the same team for longer ,say like Peyton Manning who you will notice has three ,no one knows what will happen if someone is a captain for longer than 4 years ,rumors are the 4 stars will be gold and the C itself will also be gold after that they probably get promoted to Major

Its only when they can make milkshakes that they get that 4th star.

I'm with Billsfan - I don't really like them either. They have one use though: flagging up fake jerseys on ebay.
