Randy Moss Raiders home (fake)

I got this Moss and a Chad Johnson Bengals jersey today. It must be controversial wide receiver jersey day! The Johnson is real but the experts on this awesome site schooled me, and the Moss is in fact, counterfeit.

Cory, those numbers are way too shiny, the Raiders use dazzle twill and that does not look like dazzle twill. I think it may be fake.

It is not shiny in person. The numbers seem legit.

Maybe you're right! Hope not though. Not that I paid a lot for it.

The other thing, Moss was traded to the Raiders in 2005 and that jersey is a 2002-04, not impossible, but I'd expect to see a 2005 jock tag on it.

Yeah its fake. It has that telltale space between the v neck and the mesh. See if you can return it for a refund.

Yea I totally agree man...sorry! IF you buy on eBay and they don't show good pics(OR it's TOO GOOD of a price) then it's probably fake. Here are some good examples I took of my jersey of some dazzle twill. Notice its subtle shine, stitching, AND the texture it has too:

I don't think that's dazzle twill the Saints use for their numbers. I just wasn't familiar enough with Raiders jerseys. Dazzle twill is what is used on most teams shoulder and upper material. Cool Colston jersey by the way.

Yes sir...I wasn't thinking properly! Duh!? I had read something Simon said in a couple earlier posts which my fingers typed. I've been collecting for some time, so yes the numbers & names are ALWAYS twill(tackle twill). Unless it's an original true throwback from the early '90's & back where most, but NOT all, were screen printed. If you EVER have doubts about a jersey or purchasing one Cory there's beaucoup of us here to help!

That's awesome man. I have a nice collection of authentics as well and got cocky on this Moss because the numbers aren't that stupid bubbly shiny obviously fake material. I gambled and lost. The pics were great on ebay. I just didn't realize that the Raiders used dazzle for their numbers. I am usually pretty savvy about my pickups. I love this site for the friendly advice from enthusiasts like myself. Fun hobby for football junkies! Who Dat!

BTW-IF you or someone u know is a Redskins fan please lemme know. I ordered some stuff from NFLShop and they accidentally stuffed a 'Skins longsleeve in there.
